WHAT is A Medication Aide-Certified (MA-C)

A certified medication aide in the state of Ohio can assist nurses in long term care or assisted living facilities administration. The MA-C is permitted to administer oral medications (except Schedule II narcotics), and medication via the following routes: Ear, Eye, Nasal, Inhaled, Rectal, Vaginal, Topical. MA-C can administer PRN (as needed) medication (not Schedule II drugs) after a nurse assesses the resident and determines the need. The MA-C does not replace a Nurse, rather MA-Cs assist the Nurse, allowing more time for the Nurse to complete other nursing tasks.

What Do We Offer?

ETI Technical College of Niles is the only MA-C Program in the tri-county area. As an Ohio Board of Nursing Approved Program, our students are eligible to sit for the Ohio Medication Aide Certification Test.
